  • 4 New Arrivals!

0 comments / Posted on by David Tatum

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We enjoyed a little time away but it feels great to be back, especially with 4 new coffees to be excited about! Let's dive right in:

Bali Kintamani Natural Organic: Holy cow are we excited about this one. We've been keeping our eyes open for this gem for months! It's the exact same crop as our Bali Blue Moon but processed completely differently. Same big, syrupy body but with much more complexity of flavor. Look for big, juicy notes of strawberry, dark cherry and cocoa powder. Try the two coffees side by side to really taste the difference processing makes!

    Guatemala Huehuetenango Huixoc

Guatemala Huehuetenango Huixoc: Bold and buttery smooth, this coffee is an instant classic. Just a touch of earthy complexity and loads of milk chocolate with just a hint of orange are sure to make this coffee one you reach for often.

Burundi A KawazamurabaweOk, we usually take pains to learn and pronounce coffee origins and coops, but this one has us stumped. Kawa-za-more-a-ba-way? Say that 5 times fast! Either way, this coffee is stellar. Subtle and easy-going with exceptional balance and crisp, slightly sweet tones. Look for notes of lime zest, white grapefruit and peach.

    Papua New Guinea Timuza Organic

Papua New Guinea Timuza A/X Organic: Last, but certainly not least, we were extremely excited to see this award winning coffee return. Winner of the 2016 national coffee competition, the Timuza coop is doing some really incredible work. This crop is no exception! It's complex and spicy with a lingering finish and rich body. We really enjoyed the warm notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar, caramel and orange.

Ok, so National Coffee Day seems to sneak up on us each year and maybe we just found out this morning, but ya know what? We celebrate coffee everyday! However, in honor of our favorite beverage, we're running a flash sale now through tomorrow (Saturday 9/30). Just use the code COFFEEDAY when checking out to receive 15% off all green and roasted coffee! Enjoy and Happy Coffee Day, Friends!

Oh! We also got in two new crops this week!

Bali Blue Moon Organic: That's right, we got a fresh crop from Bali and it's Organic to boot! This season's harvest is near exact in cup to what it has been the last several: Huge, rich body, lingering finish and syrupy mouthfeel. As usual, there's a slight crispness not often found in Indonesian coffee that really sets it apart without being overwhelming. Look for notes of baker's chocolate, cedar, vanilla and a touch of cinnamon.

Peru Las Damas San Ignacio Organic

Peru Las Damas de San Ignacio Organic: It's often forgotten that Peru's harvest hits the US way behind other harvests from the Americas due to it's southerly location, but it's finally here! This was our favorite Peru from last year and this years harvest is just as fantastic. Mild and silky with great balance and crisp front end, it's got sweet notes of dark chocolate, orange, lemon and just a touch of honeydew. This one is a true crowd pleaser, you can't go wrong!

We've also updated our Roasted Selections and Restocked our current favorites. Don't forget to take a little more time savoring your favorite beverage in honor of National Coffee Day!

  • Labor Day Restock

Happy Labor Day, friends! We just got a big restock as well as a couple new coffees so we thought we'd better take a second to share the joy!

    Guatemala Huehuetenango Finca El Injertal

Guatemala Huehuetenango Finca El Injertal: We just can't get enough Huehuetenango here! This is one of our favorites so we had to get it back in. Smooth, creamy, slightly complex and full bodied. This crop has notes of sweet milk chocolate, cherry a touch of lemon and a distinctive caramel sweetness. What's not to love?!

Tanzania Northern Peaberry: The African harvest continues to roll in and we just can't keep ourselves away from it! This Peaberry is very similar to the "Plus" we had recently, though it's more sweet and milk chocolatey rather than dark chocolatey. It's also got a touch of lemon and grapefruit with the same silky smooth texture and easy going body.

We also updated our Roasted Selections! We hope you're enjoying your (hopefully) long weekend and short work week! Share you coffee successes and joys this week by giving us a shout on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter!

  • 3 New Coffees Just In!

0 comments / Posted on by David Tatum

Summer is here and that means new harvests from Africa are finally beginning to hit the states! We got in two amazing ones as well as a new harvest from Mexico. You're gonna love em!

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Aricha Washed: Some folks avoid washed Ethiopian coffees because they tend to be a bit too gentle and subtle. While this coffee is certainly more gentle than a natural Ethiopian, it's got much more oomph than you'd expect! Surprising body, very flavorful and extremely well balanced. Look for notes of pear, lavender and mild lemon.

Kenya AA Plus: We usually only stick to single estate AA's, but our importer talked us into this coffee and we're so happy they did! Sourced by a producer who specializes in blending the best of the best from the Kenyan Auction lot, this coffee is definitely exceptional. It maintains the big body and dry finish common in Kenyan coffee without the overwhelming wine notes. Balanced and sweet with notes of tangerine, peach and honey.

Mexico Huatusco Altura: After a series of rather disappointing coffees from Mexico last year, we were ready to give up on the country as a coffee source. Then along came our first coffee Huatusco. It's in a class all its own! Great balance, creamy texture, clean finish. This coffee is sure to please any coffee drinker, no matter their experience level! We love the sweet notes of milk chocolate, orange, nectarine and cherry.
