3 New Coffees Green and Roasted
It's unseasonably warm for January here in the mountains, but that doesn't mean we aren't busy stocking new coffees! This week's new coffee day features 3 new green coffees as well as new roasted coffees.
Burundi AA BUMOCO Society: Our first AA from Burundi comes from the Burundi High Mountain Coffee Society. These big beans are crisp and slightly tart with a medium-full body and tea-like texture. The result is a slightly complex balance of sweet and tart with notes of green apple, lime and white grapefruit. Try something out of the ordinary!
Peru La Florida Organic: We've been really enjoying trying new coffees from Peru lately and we haven't been let down yet! This one from the La Florida co-op has a bit more "oomph" that others we've tried with more dark chocolate than milk chocolate tones. It's got a nutty almond finish with a nice full body and creamy texture. This one is the crowd-pleaser of the bunch.
Honduras Royal Reserva Natural Organic: We had this coffee last year and couldn't wait to get some more back in. It's the result of a collaboration between the COMSA co-op in Honduras and worldwide importer Royal NY. The idea was to produce a natural processed Honduran coffee that would show off the best of both worlds and they absolutely nailed it. It's complex and juicy with a syrupy body and notes of cherry, melon, strawberry and honey.
We restocked many other coffees as well, including Guatemala Huehuetenango Huixoc, D.R. Congo Organic, Sumatra Mandheling and Nicaragua Paraiso Organic!
