Recognized by clients and visitors alike, our coffees stand out not only for their unique profiles and processes, but because here they reveal their full agronomic and sensory potential reaffirming our place on the map of Colombian and international coffee culture.

Mocha became part of the new varieties at Misiones in 2017, joining a collection that now includes 15 different cultivars. Our purpose has been to position ourselves once again on the radar of both Colombian and international coffee culture. These varieties stand out not only for their cup profile and post-harvest processes, but also because at Misiones they have found a home where their full agronomic potential can be expressed.

This is possible thanks to a united and committed team, driven by a deep sense of belonging to the place where we work and live, by the constant desire to excel, and by the recognition we have received from both our clients and visitors.

In the heart of Colombia, surrounding the nation’s capital Bogotá, lies Cundinamarca—a region where history, tradition, and geography converge to produce coffees of remarkable character. While widely recognized as an economic and political hub, Cundinamarca also holds deep agricultural roots, with coffee playing an essential role in its rural identity.

The department’s landscape is diverse, ranging from warm valleys at 1,100 meters above sea level to high mountain slopes reaching nearly 2,000 meters. With temperatures between 17 and 24 °C, abundant rainfall throughout the year, and fertile volcanic and sedimentary soils, Cundinamarca offers ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality coffee.

Reminder! This coffee is raw, you must roast it before brewing

Recommended Roast Range: City to Full City (Light to Medium)

We like this coffee best at City + (Light-medium) or as first crack has begun to trail off. We find this “lighter side of medium” roast level really showcases the florals and citrus in the cup. If you prefer a more conventional cup, feel free to take this coffee to a full medium, or just after first crack has trailed off. Lighter roasts will intensify the acidity and florality at the expense of body, which some roasters might prefer. We don’t recommend going into 2nd crack with this coffee as it will quickly lose its trademark bright and crisp cup qualities.

Just two hours south of Bogotá, on the road to El Colegio and near the iconic Tequendama Falls, lies Hacienda Misiones. Founded in 1899 by Don Pedro Londoño and partners, this estate has been led by three generations and is today under the stewardship of Luis Fernando Lloreda Londoño. Its name, Misiones, comes from the religious missions once carried out here, where the estate hosted gatherings and community activities that shaped its history.

For over a century, Hacienda Misiones has combined tradition with responsible farming practices. The estate is dedicated to sustainable agronomy, using preventive and eco-friendly methods rather than aggressive chemical interventions. While minimal use of non-residual chemical inputs is applied, great care is taken to protect pollinators, preserve soil microbiota, and encourage biodiversity. Weed control is managed through pre-sowing herbicides and manual practices such as scything and hoeing, fostering a natural balance with native flora.

Today, Hacienda Misiones employs around 80 full-time workers, most of whom live on the estate in homes assigned to each project. More than just a coffee farm, it is a living legacy of tradition, community, and environmental stewardship.
