Colombia Huila Atprocafes Organic
Our first coffee from the Huila region is proving to be an incredible find. It's exceptionally balanced, creamy and full bodied. Look for notes of caramel, red apple, tangerine and honey.

Roasting: We like this coffee best at a medium roast (Full City), though you'll get even more of the sweet notes at a light-medium (City+). This coffee can handle going darker, but much past Full City + and you'll lose a lot of the subtle notes and sweetness.
Reminder! This coffee is raw, you must roast it before brewing
Our Review: The association that produces this coffee was started not too long ago in 2012. The farmers decided to start the association in order to achieve better commercialization and higher premiums. In this short time these producers have worked extremely hard to become certified as not only a fair trade organization but organic as well. Ultimately this has resulted in better recognition for the work of the farmers and their families and has opened the door to a wide variety of consumers. After being washed the beans are sun dried, overall creating a clean and well balanced cup.
This represents our first coffee from the Huila region (as far as any of us can remember at least)! We weren't sure what to expect, but from the moment the beans were ground, we were blown away. An aroma crammed full of caramel and honey gives way to a cup with exception balance, crisp front end and delightfully creamy texture. Notes of caramel, red apple, tangerine and honey linger on the tongue making for a memorable cup of joe, to say the least!
