Size :

Tanzanian coffee, particular Peaberry is always a crowd favorite! It manages to walk that line of being easy drinking without being boring. Thanks to the diligent processing of the Ngila Estate along with the shape of peaberry, it’s a super easy coffee to roast, making it a roaster’s favorite too! We love this coffee as the first cup on a cool morning as it’s flavorful enough to drink black, but the notes play well with cream and sugar. In this lot, we tasted ripe nectarine, milk chocolate, caramel and rich almond butter.

Reminder! This coffee is raw, you must roast it before brewing

Acidity & Brightness: Fairly bright and sweet

Balance & Finish: Balanced with a slightly floral finish

Body & Texture: Full bodied, smooth and silky

Flavors: Nectarine, caramel, milk chocolate and almond butter

Grade: Peaberry, grown at 1500 – 1600 masl

Processing: Fully washed and dried in raised beds

Grower: Ngila Estate

Region: Karatu District, Arusha Region, Tanzania

Varieties: Bourbon, Kent

Recommended Roast Range: City+ to Full City+ (Light-medium to medium-dark)

We like this coffee best at Full Medium but you can go a little lighter or darker depending on the flavors you want to accent. Lighter roasts will bring out more citric acidity, notably orange zest as well as a gentle floral component. Darker roasts will turn the milk chocolate to dark chocolate and accent the caramel.

Royal Coffee - "Tanzania Kilimanjaro Estate Peaberry is sourced from a family-owned estate located in the Karatu district, Tanzania. The lowest and highest elevations in all of Africa, the floor of Lake Tanganyika (352 meters below sea level) and Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters above sea level) are both located in Tanzania. Between these commanding landmarks, Kilimanjaro Estate coffee is cultivated on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater, which is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More than 25,000 wild animals, including the largest population of lions, make their home within the crater walls. The rounder shaped peaberry, formed from the rare maturation of one seed per cherry rather than the typical two seeds, is meticulously sorted during the milling process for its distinct flavor profiles.”
